Published: October 2026 | Redding, California | Meticulous Research®
Meticulous Research®, a market research and market intelligence company, has published a research report titled “Honey Powder Market Size, Share, and Industry Analysis by Type (Carrier-Based, High-Honey & Carrier-Free, Granules & Flakes), Honey Source (Multifloral, Manuka, Acacia), Nature, Drying Technology, Application, and Geography - Global Forecast to 2036”.
According to this latest publication from Meticulous Research®, the global honey powder market is projected to reach $132.14 million by 2036, at a CAGR of 5.4% from 2026 to 2036. The market is valued at $78.12 million in 2026. In volume terms, it is projected to grow from 12,369 tons in 2026 to 17,370 tons by 2036, at a CAGR of 3.5%.
The growth of the honey powder market is driven by consumer preference for honey over refined sugar. In an April 2024 survey by the International Food Information Council, honey scored 7.3 on a 10-point likelihood-to-consume scale, against 6.3 for table sugar. Growth is also supported by the dry-blend processing advantages of honey powder in bakery, cereal and snack manufacturing, by clinical guidance that recommends honey for acute cough, and by instant beverage demand in Asia. However, honey supply volatility, the treatment of honey as a free and added sugar, and the carrier dependence of conventional powders restrain the growth of this market.
Moreover, carrier-free and high-honey powders, Manuka and monofloral premium grades, and organic and traceable supply are expected to create growth opportunities for players operating in this market. However, honey adulteration and the cost of authentication remain major challenges: the European Commission found 46% of sampled imported honey consignments suspected of adulteration. Savoury and hot honey flavours, vertical integration into beekeeping and low-temperature drying are key trends in this market.
Honey supply tightened in 2025. United States honey production fell 14% to 115.7 million pounds and the all-honey price rose 27% to $3.05 per pound, according to the USDA. From June 14, 2026, Directive (EU) 2024/1438 also requires every country of origin in a honey blend to be declared with its percentage share, which raises the documentation required of honey powder suppliers.
The honey powder market is segmented by type, honey source, nature, drying technology, application, and geography. The study also evaluates industry competitors and analyzes the market at the regional and country levels.
Among the types studied in this report, in 2026, the carrier-based honey powder segment is expected to account for the largest share of 72.8% of the market. Conventional spray and drum drying require a carrier, and these grades serve bakery, cereal, beverage and seasoning lines. However, the high-honey and carrier-free honey powder segment is projected to register the highest CAGR of 9.0% during the forecast period.
Among the honey sources studied in this report, in 2026, the blossom and multifloral honey segment is expected to account for the largest share of 78.4% of the market, supported by supply from every producing country. However, the monofloral honey segment is projected to register the higher CAGR of 5.8%, led by Manuka honey at 7.6%, as New Zealand honey exports are forecast to reach NZD 520 million in 2030.
Among the drying technologies studied in this report, in 2026, the spray drying segment is expected to account for the largest share of 48.8% of the market, owing to high throughput and established carrier-based formulations. However, the freeze drying segment is projected to register the highest CAGR of 9.4%, driven by demand for 100% honey powders and freeze-dried Manuka powder.
Among the applications studied in this report, in 2026, the beverages segment is expected to account for the largest share of 22.2% of the market, supported by instant drinks and honey-lemon and honey-citron formats in East Asia. However, the nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals segment is projected to register the highest CAGR of 6.8%, driven by cough and throat-care products.
Among geographies, in 2026, Asia-Pacific is expected to account for the largest share of 44.0% of the market, valued at $34.34 million. China produced approximately 456,000 tons of honey in 2024, a quarter of world output. Asia-Pacific is also projected to register the highest CAGR of 6.3%, with India the fastest-growing country market at 7.8%.
